Since my very best friend just had a birthday, I hosted a small dinner party for him over the weekend. I assembled a lasagna, baked a loaf of Italian bread, and altered my cream cheese pound cake recipe to include lemon zest and topped it with a homemade lemon glaze. Though the affair was small and not fancy, everyone still had a good time. It's always nice to have a laid back dinner with friends. And though I didn't put any candles on the cake (it would've been a fire hazard), I do believe that Mark enjoyed the food and the company.
